Surf the web activity is commonly referred to as browsing or surfing the Internet.
Web provides information about various things surrounding almost every aspect of life. Through web services, we are able to search for specific information, visit the website information providers, and copy the information presented on the Internet to the computer. Through the web, we also can go shopping online, visit the most comprehensive library on the Internet, read the latest news, copying various types of computer programs, pictures, songs, even videos that mostly available for free. Even, on the internet we are able to interact with others through a network of friends a Facebook and Friendster.
Send Electronic Mail (Email)
Email (Electronic Mail) is an electronic message exchange services via the Internet. Each user in the email service has an email address. These email addresses will be the purpose sending and receiving messages. Each email address has a unique structure, so that no transmission errors will occur. Because of this uniqueness, it is now also an email has become a sign of one’s identity on the Internet.
Email can be obtained for free at various email provider web sites. The popular example is Yahoo! Mail and Gmail email service.
Advantages include speed of email delivery, ease of sending bulk messages, and the ability to transfer computer files as message attachments. Not like sending a letter through the postal service which takes several days, sending email messages can be transmitted in seconds. Sending a letter with the same content to several people at once can be done in a single email send task.
The files of worksheets, documents, images, and audio-visual material can be attached to the e-mail messages that we send. This certainly will be saving time and costs.
Communicating Through Chatting
Chatting is to communicate directly via the Internet. In general, communication is done by way of reply to each other text messages. However, the chat is now experiencing innovation. Communication can not only be done via text message, but also through sound and even videos.
We can chat in two-way communication with a partner, or doing a mass communication with several people at once. Model and chat services also vary. The popular chat services, among others using the program mIRC and Yahoo! Messenger.
File Transfer
FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a file sharing service on the Internet. File data exchange techniques can be done in a way to run a program to access an FTP server.
After connecting to the FTP, the upload activity, deletion, and copying files or folders can be done, as in the management of files and folders on the computer. Surely we can only do if we have full permissions on the destination FTP server.
